Peter Benjamin Parker is a photographer at The Daily Bugle who gained his proportionate powers and abilities of a spider, becoming a superhero known as Spider-Man. During his teenage years, Peter got bitten by a genetically engineered spider, gaining his powers at that point. Initially deciding on using them for money, he then realised he should use his powers to protect others following his uncle Ben Parker's death. Afterwards, Spider-Man came into conflict with the Green Goblin, who was the villanous alter ego of Norman Osborn, the father of Peter's best friend Harry Osborn. Spider-Man defeated him but Norman died in the process.
Two years later, Peter met Otto Octavius, who was building a fusion based reactor, which turned into a failure. Otto started getting controlled by the tentacles becoming the villain Doctor Octopus. During this time, a vengeful Harry found out Peter was Spider-Man, much to his surprise as he believed Spider-Man responsible for his father's death. Spider-Man defeated Otto and convinced Octavius to to stop the fusion reactor from happening, but Octavius died in the process. Following this incident, Peter and his childhood love Mary Jane Watson became a couple.
After a year following these events, Peter came into conflict with Harry, but Harry suffered from amnesia as a result of their fight, forgetting everything between him and Spider-Man. While this happened, Peter got into a rivalry with Eddie Brock over a staff job for the Bugle. It was during this time Peter, alongside his aunt May Parker, found out the true killer of Ben, Flint Marko, also known as Sandman. Enraged, Spider-Man bonded with an unknown substance, and targeted the Sandman. While under Venom's influence, he found out Brock had taken fake photos to prove Spider-Man was evil and got the staff job for himself. Eventually, after discovering the true nature of the symbiote, he got rid of it, but it bonded to a vengeful Eddie Brock known as Venom. Spider-Man then faced the combined forces of Eddie Brock and Sandman with a reformed Harry, with the latter being killed by Eddie. Following Eddie's defeat and death, Peter made peace with the Sandman, with the latter regretfully admitting that killing his Uncle was an accident. Peter and Harry then reconciled their friendship, before Peter and MJ tearfully witnessed Harry's death. After this, Peter and MJ rekindled their love for each other, sharing a dance.
Despite the complications due to Peter's double life, he and Mary Jane Watson finally became a stable couple by mending their differences. Peter additionally, became a seasoned and mature hero due to the experience he has accumulated all these years.
19 years after Harry's death, Peter would end up in an alternate reality, ending up stranded in an alternate version of New York City. Due to these events, Peter ends up meeting two younger alternateversions of himself, Which he had to help after realizing that alternate versions of his former villains had also made their way into young Peter's home universe. Parker then designed an antiserum for the Green Goblin to use in a later battle at the Statue of Liberty. Peter along with variants of himself and a redeemed alternate version of Octavius fight Sandman, and alternate versions of Green Goblin, Electro and Lizard to cure their afflictions. When the native universe's Spider-Man from this universe attempted to kill the Green Goblin for murdering his Aunt May, Spider-Man forced him to retreat. After all of his adversaries had been cured, Spider-Man embraced alternate versions of him before that universe Doctor Strange returned him to his home universe.
"You know, you were about 6 years old when MJ's family moved in next door. When she got out of the car, and you saw her for the first time you grabbed me and said, 'Aunt May, aunt May, is that an angel?'"
Peter Parker was born in Wisconsin in August, 1983. After Peter's parents died in a plane crash, an orphaned four year old Parker moved into a house in Forest Hills, New York City with Ben Parker and May Parker, both of whom were his aunt and uncle. He shared a very close relationship with his uncle and aunt, viewing them as his parents. When he was six, he met Mary Jane Watson, his next-door neighbor, whom he initially believed to be an angel. Parker also used to be a fan of comics, especially those featuring Captain America and the Red Skull, and often used to read them.[6]Cite error: Invalid parameter in <ref> tag
School Life[]
"Harry tells me you're quite the science whiz. Y'know, I'm something of a scientist myself. " "I read all your research on nanotechnology. Really Brilliant." "You understood it?" "Yes, I wrote a paper on it."
Parker attended Midtown High School in 1998, and become a brilliant yet socially inept student. He attended school with MJ and Flash Thompson, the latter of whom was a bully to him. Later on in his life, he met Harry Osborn, the son of renowned Oscorp founder Norman Osborn. He and Harry shared a best friend relationship with Harry, getting him through high school academically, while Harry protected him from bullies such as Flash.
At some point during high school, Parker idolized both Otto Octavius[7] and Norman Osborn, and wrote a paper on the latter's research on nanotechnology which he understood and praised.[6]
Graduating from High School[]
School Trip[]
Peter running after the bus
"Some spiders change colors to blend into their environment. It's a defense mechanism." "Peter, what makes you think I'd want to know that?" "Who wouldn't?"
During his senior year of high school in the year 2002, weeks before graduation, Peter and his peers were set to go to a science trip held at the genetics laboratory at Columbia University. However, he missed the bus. So, starting from Woodhaven Boulevard, chased down the school bus, which didn't stop for him, rather everyone on the bus, including the driver, made fun of him. Eventually, the bus stopped for him after MJ pointed out he had been running for a really long time. As soon as he got on the bus, many people refused to save him a seat, including Liz Allan, who told him to not think about it. As soon as he saw MJ next to Flash, he got distracted, causing him to be tripped over by one of Flash's cronies.
After arriving, Parker met Harry Osborn in front of Columbia University's Genetic Labs where the presentation was being held, however, Harry's bag was returned by Norman as Harry forgot it. Seeing that Peter and Norman were both there, Harry introduced them to each other. Norman then revealed that Harry had spoke big of him, which led Peter to reveal he wrote a paper on Norman's nanotech research. They then complimented each other, before saying goodbye. After their conversation, Harry joked about Norman potentially wanting to adopt Peter.
During the science trip, Peter decided to take pictures for the school's newspaper, but he was nudged by Flash's friend, making the picture look bad. He then proceeded to take more pictures of the spiders that were being presented, but he was nudged more. Harry then tried to defend Peter, however the teacher caught them talking and told them that if he caught someone else talking they would fail the semester. As Harry got interested, Peter explained to him the spiders, which Harry took no interest in. Then, after seeing MJ looking at the spiders, Harry dared Peter to go up and talk to her. Peter refused, so Harry instead went and talked, getting into trouble by the teacher. Peter then asked MJ to take a picture with the spiders, which MJ did. However, one of the escaped genetically engineered super spiders from the display crawled onto Peter's hand, biting him. After this, Peter began to feel sick and left.[6]
Changing[]
Peter discovers his body has changed from the spider bite
"Are you all right?" "I'm fine." "Any better this morning? Any change?" "Change? Yep. Big change."
That same day, Peter returned home, which his aunt pointed out was just in time for dinner. However, Peter refused, instead opting to take a nap. As he went to the room, he collapsed, with his DNA beginning to change as a result of the bite he took from the experimented spider. He then began to experience changes in his body, which made him unconscious.
That morning, however, Parker woke up feeling perfectly fine. As he put on his glasses, he realized that he didn't need them anymore as it blurred his sight, and he then noticed his shape was much more stronger. When May asked if he was alright and if he was going through a change, he then replied he was going through a big change. He then rushed downstairs, getting his bag and leaving without eating, but not before Ben reminded him that they were painting the kitchen that night.[6]
As soon as it got to lunchtime that day, Peter sat by himself, eating lunch. While eating, he saw MJ walking and began to gaze at her in admiration. But as she walked past, she began to fall over a puddle. Peter, with somehow an incredible sense, he was able to catch MJ, and all her food. MJ then walked away as Parker sat down to eat. He then noticed a fork attached to his hand, and when he tried to get it off, he accidentally discovered he could shoot organic webbing, catching onto someone else's lunch. Parker then tried to get the web off him but hit Flash in the process. After realizing this Parker then walked away.
While he got to his locker, he sensed Flash about to punch him, so he dodged it. After dodging a few of his attacks, he got shocked realising how quick he was to dodge them. He then dodged an attack from Flash's friend, whom Flash pushed out the way. He then broke Flash's arm, before punching him far away. MJ and Harry then looked on, with Harry thinking it was awesome. However, Peter ran away, confused about what had just happened.[6]
Discovering his Powers[]
Peter wall-crawling for the first time
"Go, web! Fly. Up, up and away, web. Shazam! Go! Go! Go, web, go!"
After the fight, Peter ran away, trying to get away from everything, then looked at his hand. Nearby, he noticed a spider crawling nearby, and looked at his hand again, noticing sharp stuff attached to his hand. He used this to climb the building, and then after realized he could climb buildings, he looked backwards excitedly, and started jumping from building to building, before getting to a building where he couldn't do it anymore. He then tried to find a hand gesture that shoots his web, before finding the right one as he couldn't command his webbing to shoot out but had to use two fingers on his palm to shoot the webbing out manually. He swung from that building to another, but he was unable to stop himself and hit his head on a billboard.[6]
Talking to MJ[]
Peter talks to Mary Jane about his plans after graduation
"So where are you going after you graduate?" "I wanna move into the city. And hopefully, get a job as a photographer. Work my way through college. What about you?" "Headed for the city too. Can't wait to get out of here."
Having come home late in the night, Parker realized the kitchen had already been painted, and found a note appeared telling him they had left meatloaf and vegetables in the fridge. However, he then saw MJ and her father Phillip Watson arguing with each other. After taking out the trash, MJ walked into her garden, frustrated, asking Peter if he knew what was going on. Peter then consoled MJ, telling her that even May and Ben could yell as well. After Peter apologized for what had happened at school that Mary Jane, the pair discussed their futures after their high school graduation, with Peter wanting to go to college and begin a photography career, and MJ wanting to act on stage, which Peter found to be perfect.
Peter practicing his organic web-shooting
However, Mary Jane left as she and Flash Thompson went for a ride with each other. After seeing MJ's reaction to Flash's new car, Peter then realized he could get a car for Mary Jane and began finding a car and potentially new ways to earn money. While looking for new cars, Parker found out he could earn money by wrestling, being able to win up to $3000 if he could win 3 minutes in the ring, with a colorful costume. Parker decided to work on a new suit and logo, basing it off a spider as he had the powers of one. A few days later, Parker decided to test his webbing capabilities, albeit in his own room. This lead to May asking what was going on, but Peter brushes it off as excerising, though he made a lot of webs in his room.[6]
Sometime later, Parker decided to head off to the place where the wrestling match was being held. However, to disguise this, Parker told May and Ben he was actually going to the downtown library and planned to take the subway there. However, Ben offered to ride him there wanting to do some exercise. After arriving Ben talked with Peter about what had been going on with his life. Ben conversed with Peter about the fight at school with Flash, and then told him that with great power come great responsibility. Enraged with Ben's lecturing, Parker decided to leave the car and head to there himself.
Peter then signed up to the NYWL wrestling match, despite the receptionist's reluctance at first, and then got ready for the fight. Initially naming him the Human Spider, the ring announcer decided to name him the Amazing Spider-Man, due to him not liking the name. After getting taunted by the crowd, Spider-Man and Bone Saw McGraw decided to fight each other in a cage match, much to Parker's frustration. He then dodged a lot of attacks, then climbed up the cage, deciding on taunting Bonesaw. This angered him, who tried reaching for Spider-Man but ended up falling down. Bonesaw then attempted to use a club and a chair to hit Spider-Man, but thanks to some repetitive kicks, Spider-Man was able to defeat him and win the fight.[6]
Death Of Ben Parker[]
"I won the money, and the guy wouldn't pay me. Then he got robbed. The thief was running towards me. I could've stopped him, but I wanted revenge. I let him go. I let him get away."
Despite winning the fight, Spider-Man was only offered 100 dollars, despite the advertisement for it saying 3000. Parker then was told that he only got that much because he knocked him out so quickly. Bitter about this, Parker left, and decided not to stop a robber who was stealing from the place. The person there then explained to him that he could have stopped him, which Spider-Man didn't care much about.
Peter finds a dying Uncle Ben
After winning the wrestling match, Parker waited for Ben, before noticing a large crowd surrounding a dead body, who was later identified as Ben Parker. Ben woke up, recognizing Peter and they held hands for a moment before Ben succumbed to his wounds. Enraged, Parker then decided to find the killer of Ben and maybe even kill him.[6]
Stopping Dennis Carradine[]
Peter reflects over his tragic mistake of losing Uncle Ben
After the tragedy that Peter faced, he put on the suit and decided to catch the killer of his uncle. He swung around town, before coming to an abandoned warehouse, finding the killer. After fighting with the killer, he pushed him to a wall, realizing that the killer was the same man whom he let escape the robbery. As the man was about to shoot Peter when he let his guard down, Peter injured him in self-defence. The man, frightened by Peter's superhuman strength, realising he wasn't human and backed away before tripping over a pipe and fell out of the window, killing him upon impact. Peter managed to escape from the police before they could catch him. That night, Parker sat on top of the Chrysler Building, reminiscing about what had happened. He then went home and embraced May, both being heartbroken about the loss of Ben.[6]
"Peter, the science award. That's terrific." "Yeah." "I know this has been a difficult time for you, but I want you to try to enjoy this day. Commencement: The end of one thing, the start of something new."
After the tragic loss, Peter, alongside his peers, celebrated their high school graduation, with Parker receiving the science award. He then talked with Harry, who revealed that they both had a place to stay after graduating, before he talked to Norman. Norman then consoled Peter about Ben and told him that if he needed anything Norman would be right there for him. After getting home, Parker remembered the last moment he shared with Ben, and how he threw it away. May then told him that they both loved each other and that was what mattered.[6]
Becoming Spider-Man[]
Post Graduation Life[]
Peter decides to use his powers for good and becomes the vigilante, Spider-Man
"♪Dresses like a spider He looks like a bug♪ ♪But we should all just give him One big hug♪ ♪Look out Here comes the Spider-Man♪"
After high school, Parker found out he had kept his wrestling suit. However, after seeing his previous suit design, he perfected it with his original idea for the suit. Taking Ben's words into heart, Peter then decided to wear it to conceal his identity and fight crime as a vigilante/superhero known as the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. He stopped various crimes, including a bodega robbery, a jeweler robbery, and so much more. However, some news outlets, including The Daily Bugle believed him to be a menace to society and cannot get a photo of him swinging through the city, due to the building's high heights and people can only get a glimpse of him.[6]
Daily Bugle Freelancer[]
Peter selling photos of Spider-Man (himself) to the Bugle
"What other skills do you have Parker?" "I was thinking of something in photography."
One day, while looking for a job, Parker noticed Mary Jane and talked with her. MJ then lied about her job, but was forced to reveal after her boss yelled at her that she worked for Moondance. MJ then revealed her and Harry had been going out together, much to Parker's frustration, and the two said their goodbyes to each other, leaving. Feeling down about this, Parker lied to Harry that he'd been fired by Curt Connors, which Harry found funny as Parker was always late. He then talked to Norman, and found a newspaper from The Daily Bugle wanting pictures taken of Spider-Man. Being Spider-Man, he stopped a gang assault with cameras around.
Following the assault, Parker submitted them to the editor-in-chief of The Daily Bugle, J. Jonah Jameson. Initially thinking of them as bad, he agreed to pay Parker 300 dollars, that being the standard fee for freelance photography. Parker then requested a job, which Jameson told him all he could offer was freelance. After having a small disagreement over Spider-Man being a hero or not, Jameson sent him to receptionist Betty Brant to ensure he'd get paid.[6]
Peter attended the annual World Unity Fair organized by Oscorp, taking photos for the Bugle. While there, he took a picture of the balcony, and noticed Harry with MJ there. He then noticed Harry attempting to make out with her, which MJ declined. Parker looked on in disappointment, but not after his spider-sense alerted him of a danger that was to come. Parker then saw the Green Goblin on his glider swooping in to cause the balcony to explode. After quickly webbing two people to safety, he then took of his clothes to reveal his suit.
After putting on the suit, Spider-Man attacked Green Goblin to save Mary Jane, which caused a balloon to fall on a little kid called Billy. Spider-Man was able to save him before returning to fight the Green Goblin. After a while, Spider-Man destroyed the glider and stopped the Green Goblin from doing anything worse, and swung MJ all the way to a church. When MJ asked him who he was, he simply replied that he was the Friendly-Neighborhood Spider-Man, and swung away.[6]
Night at Harry's Loft[]
"What was that thing?" "I don't know. Whatever it is, somebody has to stop it."
After the fight at the World Unity Festival, Parker listened to Harry on the phone with MJ. After the call, Harry apologized to Peter knowing he had feelings for MJ, just Parker never acted. After, Harry decided to get some rest and talked to Peter about the Goblin. Peter revealed he didn't know who he was, but he needed to be stopped.[6]
The very next day, Parker submitted his pictures to Jameson, who yet again decided to criticize Spider-Man, while Parker defended him. Jameson then told Parker to leave and told him that he wasn't slandering Spider-Man. However, Jameson was attacked by Green Goblin, with Parker as a witness. As a result, Parker appeared as Spider-Man, and stopped the Goblin from doing worse to Jameson. However, Jameson attacked him, believing him to be working with the Goblin. As a result, Parker webbed J. Jonah Jameson's mouth and told him to keep quiet. However, the Goblin sprayed sleeping gas on Spider-Man and made him feel unconscious.
After this, Parker was placed on a rooftop by the Green Goblin, and he preached to Spider-Man that despite his efforts for the people of New York City, everyone would come to hate him soon enough. This rang in Parker's head, and he thought about it looking at a Daily Bugle newspaper advertising for Spider-Man's arrest.[6]
Rescuing MJ[]
Spider-Man before his kiss with Mary Jane
"You have a knack for getting in trouble." "You have a knack for saving my life."
One day, Parker met Mary Jane who had just arrived from a soap opera audition, and Parker asked how it went, knowing from May what had happened. Mary Jane, disappointed about the outcome said that she needed an acting license, and left to go out with Harry, leaving Parker disappointed. However, he sensed that MJ was being attacked by a criminal gang, and came to her rescue as Spider-Man, individually taking on each member of the gang. After, he realised he didn't have his mask on and quickly leaped to the top of a building to slip his mask on, saving his face from being seen. Spider-Man returned hanging upside down on his webbing and he talked with MJ, with whom he then shared an upside down kiss with. Peter, as Spider-Man silently swung away with Mary Jane smiling at him.[6]
The next day, the Green Goblin started a fire in a crowded apartment building to lure Spider-Man into a trap. Spider-Man saved a baby from the inferno but returned to the blaze at the call of one remaining victim. He then swung in to help the person that was still trapped, and looked around for her. He then tried comforting the old lady once he saw her, but she then revealed herself to be the Green Goblin, kicking Spider-Man a distance away. The Goblin then asked about the proposal if Spider-Man had decided a yes or no. Spider-Man, however, declined. This angered the Goblin who then threw Razor Bats at Spider-Man. After getting punched by the Green Goblin a few times, Spider-Man decided to block the razor bats with his hand, but ended up receiving a scar on his right hand. Despite the injury Peter defeated Goblin and then left.
Peter then made it to their Thanksgiving Dinner, however, May, upon seeing Parker's sleeve, found a cut on his arm. Norman then left after seeing the scar. Despite Harry's efforts in trying to get him back Norman got angry and criticized MJ. After Harry got back, MJ criticized Norman and left the loft they lived in after Harry got mad at her.[6]
Visiting May[]
"You do too much. College, a job, all this time with me. You're not Superman, you know."
A few days later, Parker found May hospitalized following the attack she faced from the Green Goblin. Parker, concerned for her, then asked if she would be ok. However, he was told to leave. After, he visited an unconscious May and looked on a family photo with him, May and Ben. The next day, MJ decided to visit May along with Parker. She gave flowers and talked to Peter with how she was in love with someone else and not Harry. She then revealed it to be the Spider-Man, and Peter discussed with her that he was his photographer and he had talked to him about MJ. However, during their conversation, Harry dropped by to drop flowers. He then saw Peter and MJ together, and believed they both were in love. Enraged, he left and told Norman he was right about them.
Peter giving May company at the hospital
That night Parker was woke up by May, who revealed she had heard the entire conversation between MJ and Parker. She told Parker to go home, but Parker refused and wanted her to be fine. She then recounted Parker first seeing MJ and thinking of her as an angel. Parker decided to call MJ, however the Green Goblin instead asked him to come out and fight.[6]
"Give me your hand. Believe in me as I believed in you. I've been like a father to you. Be a son to me now." "I have a father. His name was Ben Parker."
After believing that MJ was in trouble, he swung to the scene as Spider-Man. However, the Goblin had not only MJ hostage but a few school children as well. The Green Goblin then asked Spider-Man to make his decision over who lives and dies. However, as Spider-Man was unable to make a decision, the Goblin pressured him by dropping both. Spider-Man then grabbed onto MJ and the wire holding onto the carriage. While being attacked by the Goblin, Spider-Man asked Mj to climb down, as he dropped the carriage onto a shipment. However, the Green Goblin then dragged Spider-Man to an abandoned warehouse.
The Goblin then revealed his disappoint at Spider-Man of how he offered friendship but he refused. He ruthlessly beat up Peter, before revealing that he would finish off Mary Jane with a painful and slow death. The Green Goblin took a shiny green trident and attempted to kill Spider-Man, but what Green Goblin said about M.J enraged Spider-Man and caused him to regain his strength. When the Green Goblin tried to stab Spider-Man with his trident, Spider-Man grabbed it and in a fit of rage, threw him on to a brick wall. The Green Goblin got up, but Spider-Man used his webs to pull him to the ground and then brought down the brick wall on him.
The Goblin got up, but was dazed. Spider-Man used his web to swing, grab Goblin and throw him against a wall. Spider-Man then began punching him, but stopped after Norman pleaded him to stop and took off his Green Goblin helmet to reveal himself. Peter was shocked to learn that the Goblin was really Harry's father. Norman tried asking for forgiveness, but while doing so, Goblin sent his glider at Spider-Man. While he dodged the glider, it ended up fatally impaling Osborn. Just as he was about to succumb to his wounds, he asked Parker to not tell Harry, and then died. Parker then returned Norman's dead body to his house, devastated at losing a father figure. However, Harry approached and saw Spider-Man next to Norman's lifeless body. He then grabbed a gun to kill Spider-Man with, only to see him gone.[6]
Later Life[]
Norman Osborn's funeral[]
Peter attends Norman Osborn's funeral with Harry, MJ and May
"I'm so sorry, Harry. I know what it's like to lose a father." "I didn't lose him. He was stolen from me. One day Spider-Man will pay. I swear on my father's grave, Spider-Man will pay."
A few days later, Peter approached Harry at Norman's funeral. Parker then comforted Harry, telling him how he had also lost someone who was like a father to him. Harry revealed he thought that the Spider-Man killed him and believed that the Spider-Man shall pay. He then thanked Peter for being family to him and they both embraced, as Harry then left. Parker then decided to walk towards his uncle Ben's grave.
While standing next to his uncle's tombstone, he was approached by MJ, who comforted him over his loss of Ben, and then revealed that when she was struggling over the incident with the Goblin, she thought of Peter Parker to make her safe. She then admitted her love for Parker and they both shared a kiss. However, Parker decided to keep her out of his dangerous life and refused to start a relationship with her. However, he still told MJ he would be her friend. This made her tear up; however, she recognized that kiss from the one she shared with Spider-Man and began to wonder who he was.
Spider-Man swings around the city
Parker, following this incident, then swung around the city to fight crime as Spider-Man, promising to never forget his uncles words: "With Great Power comes Great Responsibility." He decided to continue being Spider-Man to save the ones that he held dear.[6]
Struggles[]
"I'm Spider-Man, given a job to do. And I'm Peter Parker, and I, too, have a job."
During the year 2004, which was two years after his conflict with the Green Goblin, Parker became a student of Doctor Curt Connors at Columbia University. He also found a job at Joe's Pizza, working for Mr. Aziz. However, both began to lose faith in him due to his time as Spider-Man: for Connors, his grades and exhaustion were key factors in his lessons, and for Mr. Aziz it was Parker's lateness when it came to delivering pizzas. He also found an apartment, however, his landlord Mr. Ditkovich often chastised him for not paying rent when it was due. This not only affected his professional life but his social life was affected as well, as he was unable to talk to Harry and MJ.[7]
Bad Birthday[]
Peter with a job as a pizza delivery boy
"What's the occasion?" "Really, Peter. It's your birthday!"
One day, Parker was late yet again for work as he was distracted by a billboard advertising MJ's play. Eventually, Mr. Aziz stopped him and told him that 21 minutes before there was an order and he was defaulting on him to deliver in eight minutes due to Joe's Pizza having a 29-minute guarantee. However, Parker's duties as Spider-Man could not go without completing as he had to save two children whom he told not to play on the road. Eventually he was able to deliver the pizzas. However, they were not paid for by the receptionist because of him being late. Following the refused payment, Parker pleaded with Mr. Aziz for another chance, but instead he removed the Joe's Pizza sticker from his bike helmet.
Peter's photos are rejected by Jameson
After his failed job, Parker was initially fired by Jameson for providing pictures of other things, before Parker gave him a picture of Spider-Man. Parker then showed the cheque given by Jameson to Betty Brant, however that did not cover the advance she had given previously. After feeling down, She told Parker he should chin up. However his day was met by more misery as he failed to attend Connor's class. Connors then reminded him of his paper on fusion, which Parker was planning to write on Otto Octavius. However, he was asked to get it done or Connors would fail him, Connors being a good friend of Octavius.
While feeling miserable about how bad his day was going on, Parker decided to visit May, only to see her, Harry and MJ. Due to how bad he was feeling, Parker forgot it was his birthday and celebrated with them. He talked to Harry, who revealed he was making a breakthrough on fusion by funding Doctor Octavius, who Parker was writing a paper on. Harry then surprised him with the fact that he could introduce him to Otto which delighted Parker. However, it then turned into a negative conversation after Harry talked about Parker's support for Spider-Man. Parker reminded him that he simply wanted to be friends with Harry.
After the party, Parker found May's garnishment note and woke her up. She at first mistook him for Ben but then felt mournful at their loss. She then tried to cover up the garnishment note and offered money which Parker declined but was then told to take it by an agitated May. She then apologized as it was due to her mourning for Ben and said goodbye. After, Parker and MJ discussed outside that MJ was seeing a man whom she liked. Parker then promised to attend her play.
However, Parker's Day would only get worse, as soon as he returned to his apartment his birthday money was taken away by landlord Mr. Ditkovich for rent purposes. Parker returned home and reflected on the day, before going to sleep.[7]
Meeting Doctor Octavius[]
"You're Connors' student. He tells me you're brilliant. He also tells me you're lazy." "I'm trying to do better."
Following his bad day, Parker woke up to use the bathroom only to find Mr. Ditkovich yet again asking for rent, which Parker responded by closing the door.
Later, Parker and Harry walked up towards Otto Octavius. Harry introduced them both to each other with Parker revealing he was actually writing a paper on Otto. Initially not wanting to talk to Parker, Otto decided to do so on Harry's proposal, stating that Oscorp pays the bills so it would be fair. Finally, Harry took off and Otto remembered Parker from Connors' talking's. He then told that due to his laziness, brilliance was not enough, and he should use intelligence for the good of mankind. Eventually, Otto then showed off his fusion reactor which impressed Parker. However, he then realized it could potentially destroy the entire city.
However, Otto and his wife Rosie convinced him Otto would be the one to know. Parker displayed his knowledge of Bernoulli's curve of quickest descent which led Otto to praise Parker. Rosie then decided to ask if he had a love partner which Parker responded that he did not know. However, Otto insisted that love was not to be kept a secret and if he wanted to get a girlfriend, the best way was to read them poetry. Parker would take Otto's advice and practice it while getting his clothes cleaned. Later, Peter sat in a laundry store reading poetry while his clothes and secretly his Spider-Man Suit were being washed. When it was finished, Peter takes his suit out but noticed his suit had left marks on his other clothes.[7]
MJ's Play[]
Peter, as Spider-Man, drives the thieves' car to MJ's play
"John has seen my show five times. Harry has seen it twice. Aunt May has seen it. My sick mother got out of bed to see it. Even my father. He came backstage to borrow cash. But my best friend, who cares so much about me can't make an 8:00 curtain."
After getting his clothes cleaned, Parker got ready to see MJ's play, The Importance of Being Earnest. As Parker collected his ticket, Parker evaded Mr. Diktovich's calls for rent yet again. Parker then bought flowers for her but was only able to get 3 of them. While content, Parker rode on his scooter to see MJ's play. However, Parker saw two criminals and dodged them just in time. This amazed two children nearby, both of whom asked him how he was able to do it, and Parker simply replied he worked out and had plenty of rest.
After, Parker had to delay yet again due to the two criminals, and chased them around New York. After he successfully apprehended them, Parker arrived. However much to his frustration the usher would not allow him to sit because of him being late, which made Parker sit outside the theatre, listening to a violinist playing a tune of Spider-Man, much to his annoyance. After the play finished, Parker noticed Mary Jane and made plans to talk to her, but then saw Mary Jane with her boyfriend and realized it was too late.

After, Parker tried to continue his war on crime as Spider-Man, however due to his bad luck, he suffered from a web block. This caused him to fall down and crash into some pipes. After realizing he could not shoot webs at that given moment, Spider-Man instead took the elevator to get downstairs, which was very awkward as he had to share the elevator with a guest who entered inside with his dog.
Spider-Man awkwardly uses an elevator
The guest told Spider-Man his outfit looked cool, which Spider-Man thanked and admitted he made it when the guest asked him where he got it. After exchanging awkward words, Spider-Man left the elevator, changed back into Parker and walked back to his apartment, dragging his damaged moped along the sidewalk, dejected over his failure of attending Mary Jane's play.
The next day, Parker used a public pay phone in order to call Mary Jane to apologise and confess what happened while he was on his way to her show, however he was unable to bring himself to speak the truth about him and Spider-Man. He eventually did; however, he gave up once realizing that MJ was not listening to his confession about him.[7]
Failed Fusion Reactor[]
Spider-Man stops the fusion reactor by pulling the plugs
Following the disappointment surrounding Mary Jane's play, Parker alongside Harry attended Otto's test, where he presented his fusion reactor. He then presented the tentacles, which would help because they were impervious to heat and magnetism. After, Otto turned the power on, causing the reactor to power. This impressed Parker and Harry, who clapped at the result. However, once more power was added the reaction eventually started to increase the magnetism and caused nearby objects to be attracted to the reactor. Parker soon ran away and suited up as Spider-Man.
Spider-Man showed in time to save Harry. However, Harry reminded him he still hadn't forgiven him for what he had done to his father. Eventually upon learning that Spider-Man had showed up to remove the plug, Otto used his tentacles to attack Spider-Man believing the reactor would soon stabilize. Eventually, the Neural Inhibitor Chip fried up due to the reactor and Otto was left unconscious. This gave Spider-Man the advantage to pull the plug and shut the reactor down altogether. After this, Spider-Man left the building as Parker.[7]
After the failed demonstration, Brant found Parker the next day and brought him over to Jameson. Upset at Parker for not being able to provide a picture of the incident having been there himself, Jameson fired Parker. However upon remembering the Planetarium Party that would present J. Jonah Jameson's son John Jameson, he took back his decision so that Parker would be able to attend the ceremony for the purpose of taking pictures. When Parker asked if he could be paid in advance, however, Jameson simply laughed at this remark and asked him to leave the building.
Following this incident, Parker accompanied May to the bank in order to get her financial struggles sorted. However they were unable to come to a compromise, despite Ben's life insurance and May's money from piano lessons. This upset May, who prompted to kick the bank attendant out of rage. However, they could not continue to negotiate any further because a cloaked figure later revealed to be Doctor Octopus decided to rob the bank. This caused Spider-Man to try and prevent this incident. However Doc Ock used his tentacles to throw Spider-Man away and escape. However this came to no avail because Spider-Man was able to bring Otto outside. Despite this, Otto grabbed May and prepared to climb up the building with her.
Spider-Man faces Doctor Octopus
Spider-Man tried to save May, and was able to do so, until Doc Ock caught May. May was able to attack Octavius and cause herself to fall. Luckily Spider-Man was able to save her, which changed May's thoughts about him and led her to realize he was a hero. Spider-Man then left the scene, impressing everybody around. However, Doc Ock was still at large despite this incident.[7]
Night at the Planetarium Party[]
Peter attending the Planetarium party
"Ladies and gentlemen, I just want you all to know that the beautiful Miss Mary Jane Watson has just agreed to marry me."
After the fight at the bank, Parker continued his job at the Planetarium Party for the Bugle, however he then noticed Harry in a bad mood and went over to talk to him. However, Harry instead got angry over the failed fusion reactor and Parker's continued support for Spider-Man. Before things got any worse, however, Parker was picked from the crowd by Jameson and was asked to continuously take pictures of Jameson with several people. Eventually though, the rest of the crowd gazed in awe while noticing the astronaut John Jameson himself making an appearance. Parker then turned around only to notice MJ with him, making him realize they were in a relationship together.
Parker then tried to talk to MJ, and apologize for everything, but MJ simply stated they did not know each other and how it was painful to think about Parker. Parker then decided to follow Octavius' advice and read the poem The Song of Hiawatha, but MJ decided to stop him. When Parker asked if he could get her a drink, MJ then reminded Parker of the times everyone else in her life attended the play, and left upset. After this, a disgusted Harry approached him, sick and tired of Parker for defending Spider-Man all the time and stealing MJ away from him. Harry then slapped Parker continuously, and left. Parker's life only got worse as it was revealed to everyone that John Jameson and MJ were now engaged. He was then asked by Jameson to continue taking pictures, which he did.[7]
Spider-Man No More[]
Losing His Powers[]
Spider-Man suffers another web block
"l'm Spider-Man. But I'm losing my powers. I'm climbing a wall, but I keep falling."
That night while swinging through the city, Spider-Man tried to shoot another web but then realized he was beginning to have a web block again and fell into a dark alleyway. After trying to shoot another and failing, Spider-Man wondered what was going on. Parker then tried to see if he could still climb the walls, which was initially successful, however he still fell down onto the ground in a puddle. He then read another Daily Bugle newspaper which was in the trash nearby. However, it got blurry, and Parker retreated to his apartment, throwing the newspaper away.[7]
Giving Up[]
Spider-Man: No More
"Take my hand, son." "No, Uncle Ben. I'm just Peter Parker. I'm Spider-Man no more."
After, Parker did an appointment with Doctor Wally Davis at Columbia University. However, there was nothing wrong with Parker physically, and instead there might have been something wrong inside his head. Parker then told Davis that his friend had a dream where he was Spider-Man and couldn't climb the walls. Davis then told him that he did not have to be doing this and that he had a choice in his life.
Later that night after going to bed, Parker envisioned his Uncle Ben and told him he was in love with Mary Jane and that he wanted a life of his own rather than having to carry out all of Ben's wishes. Ben however reminded him that with great power comes great responsibility and asked him to continue his heroics. However Parker refused, stating that he was just Peter Parker and no longer Spider-Man. Parker then threw his suit in a nearby trash can that night and walked away.[7]
Improved Life[]
Peter returns to a normal life
"You look different." "I shined my shoes, pressed my pants, did my homework."
After stopping his life as the masked vigilante, Parker surprisingly found himself happy, being able to fix his broken scooter in the car chase incident and also being able for him to focus on his studies, which Doctor Connors praised after initially being on the verge of failing him. However, this also turned out to become a problem as the crime rates unknowingly increased and despite knowing that nearby crimes were occurring, he instead ignored them believing he should not be responsible as Spider-Man anymore. He was also able to arrive at Mary Jane's play, which surprised her and they both mouthed a "hi" to each other before the play continued.
After the play, Parker and MJ had a chat with each other, with MJ being surprised at Parker's appearance and she also realized there was something different about Parker. Parker then revealed to her that he had now been able to focus on his social life, being able to finally do his homework. However, when Parker suggested he could get her Chow Mein, MJ declined believing it was another attempt to get her in his life and reminded him she was getting married to John. Parker then tried reminding her of the time MJ told him she loved him, however MJ stated there was nothing to them and they were never in a relationship. MJ got frustrated and then left, reminding Parker she was getting married in a church.[7]
Revealing the Truth[]
"I'm responsible." "For what?" "For what happened to Uncle Ben."
One day, while walking down the street, Parker noticed some criminals beating down a young man nearby. This made Parker then look away and wonder about whether he had actually done the right choice of giving up his identity.
After, Parker alongside his aunt May, visited Ben's grave in order to pay their respects to the man they once lost with May placing flowers near the gravestone. After, they went to May's house, where she blamed herself for the loss of Ben and had tea with Parker. During tea, however, Parker told her she shouldn't blame herself. May then agreed and stated she thought she should have stopped Uncle Ben from driving him there. However, Parker instead revealed he didn't actually go to the library and that he went somewhere else to earn money. He then revealed he wanted revenge and how Uncle Ben died that night being the only person who did the right thing. May then left to go upstairs in shock.[7]
Fire Accident[]
Peter bravely saves a little girl from a burning building, without his powers
"Am I not supposed to have what I want? What I need? What am I supposed to do?"
After this, Parker one day saw a newspaper made by The Daily Bugle which revealed that in the absence of Spider-Man, the crime rate in New York City had increased by 75%. However, Parker then heard some screaming nearby and heard that there was a young child stuck inside of the building, and that the building was covered in fire. Parker then rushed inside to save the child. However Parker had lost his powers therefore he could not break the door by itself and kicked it as a result. After dodging some falling rubble, Parker heard that the crying was coming from the closet of that room and opened it, rescuing the child. He then ran with her, but nearly fell down with the child. After placing the child nearby, Parker struggled to lift himself up due to having lost his strength. However the girl helped Parker up and they escaped the building, with Parker returning the girl back to her concerned parents. The fire and rescue department came and helped Parker to breathe properly. However, Peter overheard that one other person was trapped inside, and never made it out.
That next day, Parker looked upon the city, wondering if he could have anything he wanted in the world. However, he was interrupted by Mr. Ditkovich's daughter Ursula Ditkovich, who apologized for not knocking the door and then closed it. She then knocked again, which Parker answered. She asked if Parker wanted chocolate cake and milk, which he accepted. After they ate together, Ursula collected their plates and told Parker there was a message from his aunt.
Peter listens to May's heroic speech
After, Parker visited his aunt May, who revealed that with the help of neighbor Henry Jackson, she was getting her stuff ready to move out of her house despite being given a few more weeks to live and had found an apartment to stay at for the time being. Parker then tried to apologize but May revealed that to her it was forgotten at this point, and instead she was proud of Parker for being able to tell her the truth. Eventually Jackson greeted Parker who asked about Spider-Man, knowing he took pictures of him. Parker simply replied that Spider-Man quit, which Jackson felt upset about. May then agreed, stating Spider-Man was a hero, and that he set examples for everybody. She then told Parker she believed there was a hero in everybody, before asking Parker to lift the desk nearby.
Peter hurts his back after his failed attempt to return as Spider-Man
Inspired by May's words, Parker decided to go on top of a building and decided he wanted to become Spider-Man again, with a strong focus on what he was trying to achieve. He then ran and jumped of the building ready to reach the next. After initially yelling out that he was finally Spider-Man and has his powers back, he then fell across some clothes and hit several cars. After, Parker held his back together as is was hit as a result of the fall.[7]
"What do you want?" "I want you to find your friend Spider-Man. Tell him to meet me at the Westside Tower" "I don't know where he is." "Find him. Or I'll peel the flesh off her bones."
After this, Parker met Mary Jane Watson at a local café. She then thanked Parker for coming and stated the reason she asked him to come was because she believed she had to listen to what Parker had to say after her play was over. However, Parker refused to tell her, simply stating that he thought he could but couldn't. Watson then asked Parker if he loved her. Upon Parker saying no, Watson reached out of a kiss. However, Parker then felt an unknown presence nearby and grabbed Watson, ducking down. It was then revealed to be a car thrown by an unknown person, who later revealed himself to be Doctor Octopus.
Doctor Octopus then used his tentacles to grab Parker close to him and asked him to find out where the Spider-Man was, or he would attack Watson. After Parker threatened Doc Ock, he was thrown into one of the café walls, with rubble falling over Parker. Octavius then grabbed Watson and went away. After, Parker was able to lift himself from the rubble and noticed the fact that he no longer needed glasses anymore and that his power was back.[7]
Spider-Man is Back[]
Battle with Doctor Octopus[]
Spider-Man returns to face Doctor Octopus
"Where is she?" "Oh, she'll be just fine. Let's talk."
After having found out his powers were back, Parker went to The Daily Bugle Tower, where he took his suit during Jameson's speech on his regret of slandering Spider-Man. Jameson, upon seeing the suit had been taken, went back to his usual criticism of Spider-Man and a newspaper was published announcing this. Spider-Man then swung to the Westside Clocktower. After asking where MJ was, Doc Ock assured him she'd be fine and asked him to come closer. Spider-Man swung at him but Octavius used his tentacles to attack him. He then threw Spider-Man off and threw stuff at him, but Spider-Man was able to fight back. Eventually Spider-Man was able to pull them down and they landed on a train. Doc Ock then threw Spider-Man but Spider-Man was able to fight back. Doc Ock then knocked Spider-Man off the train and onto the streets.
Spider-Man then came back ready to fight. After seeing Spider-Man back. Octavius retaliated by throwing random people off of the train. This caused Spider-Man to catch them and shoot webs to ensure their fall would not be painful. After this, Octavius then knocked out the captain of the train and pulled the plug after increasing it to the maximum speed. Octavius then left, reminding Spider-Man he had a train to catch.[7]
After Octavius left, Spider-Man took off his mask as a result of the flames and went to the front of the train, asking everybody to hang on. He then used his feet to stop the train, but his legs were injured as a result of this. When he was asked by the captain if he had some ideas, Spider-Man replied he did and used his webs to stick onto the nearby buildings and hold the train back. However, the walls of the buildings fell. Spider-Man then tried to do the exact same thing instead with more webs. This caused him to struggle and cut himself. Luckily, the train just about stopped. After this, Spider-Man felt exhausted.
Peter stopping the train
Eventually Spider-Man was carried gently by the passengers across the train. They were all surprised to discover he was just a kid and wondered if he was alive. Eventually Spider-Man woke up, and reached for his mask. Shocked to realize he was unmasked in a public place, all the passengers assured him it was alright, and two young boys handed him his mask, mentioning it was good seeing him return. However, Doctor Octopus showed up, ready to take back Spider-Man. In response, all the civilians shielded Spider-Man, but Doctor Octopus pushed them all to the side and knocked out Spider-Man, and took him to the Osborn Penthouse.[7]
After being taken to the Osborn Penthouse, Spider-Man was placed on the bed, as Harry Osborn gave Octavius the tritium as a part of the deal they had done. Osborn then looked at Spider-Man, threatening to reveal his identity before killing him. Osborn then unmasked Spider-Man and was shocked to discover Spider-Man was Peter Parker, his own best friend. After the reveal, Parker broke out of the chains he was in and approached Osborn, asking where Octavius was keeping Watson. Despite hating Spider-Man for him apparently murdering his father, he disclosed where Doctor Octopus' Hideout was located.[7]
After leaving the Osborn Penthouse, Spider-Man found Doctor Otto Octavius' hideout and climbed towards Mary Jane Watson, who was tied by Octavius. After notifying her of his presence, Spider-Man was about to talk to her, but Octavius intervened. Spider-Man then tried heading towards the plug of the second fusion reactor, but Octavius stopped him and threw him out. Spider-Man swung back inside and kicked Octavius into a nearby puddle and continuously threw punches at Octavius. Eventually, Spider-Man noticed Mary Jane getting pulled by the magnetic field of the fusion reactor, so he swung her away. However, after this, Doc Ock continued to attack Parker. Spider-Man was then able to pull the plug however the fusion reactor still remained there. After noticing Octavius laying nearby, Parker then unmasked himself, and asked him how to turn it off. Octavius revealed it was self-sustaining so it could not be turned off, and revealed he would not have done it anyways. He then grabbed Parker by the neck with his tentacles, refusing to. However, Parker reminded Octavius of his saying about how intelligence should be used for the good of mankind.
Peter, unmasked, reveals himself to Mary Jane
After remembering his saying, Octavius was able to control his tentacles and stop them from doing any harm. He then mentioned the only way to stop it was the river and volunteered to drown it himself at the expense of his life. Parker then saw Watson there and rushed to save her. Upon realizing the person, she loved was Spider-Man, she understood why he could not be in a relationship with her. After Octavius drowned along with the reactor, saving half of New York, Spider-Man made a web for him and Watson to sit on. Parker then revealed that him being Spider-Man got in the way of them and they would never be able to date, which saddened MJ. As Watson reunited with John Jameson, Spider-Man watched them and then swung away.[7]
"I know you think we can't be together. But can't you respect me enough to let me make my own decision? I know there'll be risks. But I want to face them with you."
The next day following Doctor Octavius' sacrifice, Parker sat on his bed and contemplated, but was met by Watson, who was supposed to get married. Parker then told her she should not be at his apartment, but Watson said she knew of the risks Parker talked about and wanted to face them with him. They then kissed Parker as they heard sirens nearby which meant crime was happening. Watson then told Parker to stop the criminals. In response to the crime, Parker wore his Spider-Man Suit and swung around New York following the helicopters to stop the crime, as Watson watched him do so.[7]
Life as Celebrity[]
Watching MJ's Play[]
"Was I really good? I was so nervous. My knees were shaking." "Your knees were fine."
Over a year later, Peter´s alter-ego became really famous among the people of New York City becoming a type of celebrity, Peter would attended the opening night of Mary-Jane's new Broadway show, Manhattan Memories. Also attending was Harry, who still accused him of murdering his father Norman. As Peter left the show, he saw Harry, and ran up to him. He asked Harry to hear his side of the story, but Harry refused and left. Peter went backstage and caught up with Mary Jane, before the two went to the park. Peter spun them a web hammock with his spider powers, and the two layed in it, stargazing. As the couple leant in for a kiss, behind them a meteor fell nearby. Unknown to them, a strange, black substance crawled out of the meteor, attaching itself to Peter's moped as he and Mary Jane leave.
Peter arrived at his Aunt May's new apartment and told her that he is planning to propose to Mary Jane. May told him that he needs to put her before himself, and he convinced himself that he can do it. May then told him the story of how Peter's Uncle Ben proposed to her. When she was finished, she tells Peter to make the proposal very special to Mary Jane, and handed him her wedding ring as a gift for Mary Jane.
While driving back to his apartment, Peter was whisked off his moped by a masked figure on some sort of hoverboard. The masked figure throws Peter into a wall, and then reveals himself as the New Goblin, Harry's alter-ego using his father's Goblin gear. Peter and Harry fight through the streets of New York, and the end result was Harry getting knocked out in an alleyway. Peter promptly took him to a hospital and watched as they attempted to revive Harry. Peter was told that Harry will recover, and is led into the ward where Harry lies. Harry has lost his immediate memory, and so he and Peter began to get along just like the old days. Mary Jane arrives and then she and Peter are asked to leave; Harry tells the nurse that he would give his life for his two best friends.
Back at his apartment, Peter admired the ring he plans to give to Mary Jane when she knocked on his door. He lets her in and she entered, flustered. She read out a rather negative review of her performance in the play from the previous night; Peter used his experiences as Spider-Man to try and comfort her, but Mary Jane got even more upset. Just when she thought Peter is about to understand, Peter's police band monitor goes off and reported about an out-of-control crane. Peter gave Mary Jane a sympathetic look and then changed into his costume, swinging off through the city. Mary Jane paused as she leaves, startled by a small bang, but dismissed it almost instantly. What she didn't see was the meteoric black substance crawling down the back of Peter's desk and into the shadows of the closet.
"I see Spider-Man posters in the window. Kids running around with me on their sweaters. Big Hallowe'en item. I don't know, I guess I've become something of an icon."
At the scene, across the road from and completely unaware of the out-of-control crane, Peter's lab partner in science, Gwen Stacy, was having a photo shoot in an office building. A bar slammed through the windows behind her, and then dropped down another floor and smashes out the floor supports below. The corner of the building dropped, and Gwen slid down to the edge of the building and hung on with all her might. Just as she fell, Spider-Man swung in and caught her, and set her down. Spider-Man was approached by Eddie Brock, Gwen's alleged boyfriend, who told Spider-Man that he was the new photographer of Spider-Man. Spider-Man swung off, annoyed with this new photographer, and then went to the Daily Bugle to deliver the editor some photos of the crane accident. When he arrived, it turned out that Brock has gotten there first, and J. Jonah Jameson chooses Brock's photo over Peter's.
Brock explained that he would like a staff job, and Jameson told the two photographers that if either of them wanted a staff job then they will have to get a picture of Spider-Man committing a crime. Peter told Brock that he didn't have a chance at getting the photo, and Peter went to Times Square. There, he saw a sign saying Spider-Man was to receive the "Key to the City". Peter then went to take Harry back to his penthouse apartment and the two hung out there. Peter gave Harry his old basketball, and threw it to him in the living room. It bounced into a vase and knocked the vase over and Harry effortlessly catches both the ball and the vase. He marvels at his skill, worrying Peter.
Peter and Mary Jane at the festival
The next day, Peter attended the ceremony being held for Spider-Man. He met Mary Jane, who didn't tell him about being fired from the show. She encouraged him, and then he walked off in preparation. Gwen Stacy introduced Spider-Man as the person who saved her from certain death, and then Spider-Man swung in, performing small stunts on the stage. He dropped down and suspended himself at head level with Gwen Stacy, upside down. He told her to kiss him, for publicity, and she did so in a kiss reminiscent of the one Peter and Mary Jane shared in the alleyway years ago.
Suddenly, a cloud of sand flew in, and the ceremony was disrupted. Spider-Man swings off to find out what is going on, and saw the cloud of dust form into a person who breaks into an armored car. Spider-Man landed in the car and tried to punch the Sandman, but his arm went straight through his stomach. The Sandman punched Spider-Man out of the vehicle, and Spider-Man swung back in to try and fight off the Sandman. Marko fled as Spider-Man realized that the armored car was about to crash into a large vehicle, and managed to save the two drivers. He jumped out, with the Sandman nowhere in sight.
The following night, Peter went to a fancy French restaurant and gave the Maitre d' the ring for Mary Jane for safekeeping. He sat and waited for her, practicing his proposal. As she arrived, Gwen Stacy also approached, and Peter introduced her to Mary Jane as his lab partner. This infuriated Mary Jane, and Gwen quickly left. Mary Jane asked Peter if he was trying to push her away, inappropriately kissing another girl with "their" kiss. Peter attempted to explain he wasn't intending to push her away and he only did as a stage performance to the public, but MJ replied she didn't feel well and left. Peter tried to follow her, but gave up and retrieved the ring.
The following morning, Peter tried to contact Mary Jane, but she deliberately didn't answer the phone. As he hung up, the phone rang. A detective asked him to go down to the police station, where Peter and Aunt May were informed by Captain George Stacy that the police got the facts wrong surrounding Uncle Ben's death, and that he was actually murdered by someone else. The officer pulls out a picture of Flint Marko, and Peter instantly recognizes him. He storms back home, waiting for any news on the Sandman. Mary Jane arrives while he waits, and told him she wanted to support him through this. He told her he didn't need help, and she tried to make him understand that everybody needs help at some point in their lives, even Spider-Man. She leaves, and Peter continues waiting for the police band to give him some news about the Sandman. As he waited, he fell asleep.
Silently, the black meteoric substance approached him, and he woke up hanging upside down in front of a skyscraper window. His Spider-Man suit is now jet black, and has enhanced his powers, making him feel really good. He swung around the city and then visited Curt Connors, his science professor, who agreed to analyze the black substance. Connors warned him that the substance appeared to be a symbiote, in need of a host to bind to; he warned Peter not to get any on him. Peter went home and finally heard a report about the Sandman on the police band.
He puts on the black suit and proceeded to fight The Sandman, with his powers enhanced. Brock turns up to photograph the event, but Spider-Man turns on him, ripping the camera away and smashing it. Spider-Man then goes on to fight and, evidently, kill The Sandman, ruthlessly drowning him and thereby transforming him into a pile of wet mud.
Peter went home and argued with his landlord, Mr. Ditkovich, and then slams his door on him. The landlord retreats back to his room, shocked at Peter's sudden outburst. Peter, meanwhile, looks in the mirror and realized that the black suit is altering his personality, and so took it off. He then visited Aunt May, telling her of Marko's death at the hands of Spider-Man. She was shocked that Spider-Man could act like that, and told Peter that revenge can take people over, like a poison, and change them for the worse. Peter realised it didn't count as he started to realise his uncle wouldn't want such revenge.
"You gonna kill me like you killed my father?" "I'm done trying to convince you." "You took him from me. He loved me." "No. He despised you. You were an embarrassment for him. Look at Little Goblin Jr. Gonna cry?"
Mary Jane called Peter and asked him to meet her in Central Park, where she dumped him, claiming to be in love with another man. Peter then met Harry in a diner, where Harry claimed that he is the other man, having blackmailed MJ to do so in order to break "Peter's heart". Peter furiously left and puts the black suit on, arriving back at Harry's penthouse that night. He, under the influence of the symbiote, furiously attacked Harry, knocking him into a glass shelf and then sneering at Harry that his father had never loved him. Harry threw a pumpkin bomb at Peter, but Peter snags it with a web and threw it back at him. Peter left as the bomb went off which disfigured Harry.
Freeing from the Control[]
Learning the Truth about the Suit[]
Peter dances
"This can be dangerous. Peter, you didn't keep any, did you?"
The next day, Peter strolled through the streets and saw an article about Spider-Man stealing some money from the bank, with a photo courtesy of Eddie Brock. He recognized the photo as an altered version of one that he took himself years ago. He went to the Daily Bugle and alerted Jameson to the fraud, who fired Brock from his new position as part of the Daily Bugle staff.
Peter then got a call from Dr. Connors, who told Peter that the black substance, a symbiote, would amplify the characteristics of any host, especially aggression. Peter under the symbiote's influence brushed it off. Peter had new photos of the black suit Spider-Man to which Jameson offered Peter the usual rate, but Peter, under the influence from the symbiote, says that if he wants the pictures, Jameson has to give him the staff job.
Dating Gwen Stacy[]
"I'm thinking humiliation. Kinda like you humiliated me. Do you remember? Do you remember what you did to me? You made me lose my girl."
One evening, Peter took Gwen to a jazz club where Mary Jane was working, in an effort to make Mary Jane jealous. When Mary Jane gets up to sing, Peter jumped up and started playing the piano with the band, leaving her speechless. He suddenly jumped up and launched into a full dance routine throughout the jazz club, ultimately resulting in Gwen realizing that he did it all to make Mary Jane jealous. Gwen sincerely apologised and left the Jazz Club.
After Gwen left the jazz club, Peter attempted to talk to Mary Jane, but was approached by a bouncer and the owner of the club. The bouncer tried to throw Peter out, but Peter started viciously beating him up; when Mary Jane tried to step in, believing she was another bouncer, he turned around and whacked her hard on the jaw, sending her flying to the ground. Horrified by what he did and knowing he wouldn't hurt his loved ones like that, she asked him who he was, and Peter accepted that he didn't know. He left, Mary Jane still lying on the floor with a look of shock on her face. He then began to realize that the symbiote was controlling him and decided to get rid of it.
Getting Rid of the Symbiote[]
Spider-Man reflects over his terrible behaviour
"I know what it feels like. It feels good. The power. Everything. But you'll lose yourself. Let it go."
Peter donned his black Spider-Man costume and swung up to the top of a church tower, where he reflected over the terrible things he had done. Knowing what to do what's right, he jumped down and started to tear the symbiote off. The symbiote, however, unwilling to be seperated from its host, fought to prevent it, but Peter's accidental ringing of the church's bell, caused the symbiote to shriek. The bell sound seemed to pain the symbiote, and it made it easier for Peter to successfully remove it. It eventually came off clean and Peter stealthily returned to his apartment. Unknown to him, Eddie Brock, who was in the church, praying for Peter's death, became the next host to the symbiote and became the monstrous Venom.
Peter confesses to May Parker over his terrible behavior
"You start by doing the hardest thing. You forgive yourself. I believe in you, Peter. You're a good person. And I know you will find a way to put it right."
Peter was visited that night by his Aunt May, who told him that despite everything that he may have done to Mary Jane, he can still make things right somehow. He watched as she left, feeling comforted. Venom swung through the streets of Manhattan when he was suddenly stopped by Flint Marko, who mistook him for Spider-Man. Venom told Marko that together, they could defeat Spider-Man, and Marko agrees to team-up. Venom acquired a taxi, then drove to Mary Jane's house and collected her when she flags him down to get to the Jazz Club. He kidnapped her and hung her in the taxi in a web, suspended 80 stories above the ground in an under-construction skyscraper. Peter saw reports of the kidnapping on the news, and then changes into his old Spider-Man costume.
Peter returns to his old red and blue suit
He went to Harry's and asked for help, but Harry rejects him again and turns to show Peter the scars on his face. Peter tries once more to get Harry's help, for Mary Jane's sake, but Harry merely growls at him to get out. Peter leaves, and Harry is confronted by the house butler, Bernard, who tells Harry that he cleaned his father's wound the night he died. He tells Harry that the blade that pierced his father's body came from his own glider and that Peter was not to blame.
Spider-Man swung into the construction site and landed on the front of the car; Venom swung in and knocked him through the windshield. He grabbed the back of the car and hauled himself up, as Venom introduced himself to Spider-Man, shocking him as he saw that Eddie was now in control of the symbiote. After Venom taunted Spider-Man over his spider-sense not going off, he knocked him down again. Spider-Man landed down on the web and then Venom jumped on him. Peter tried to ask Brock to settle the problem some other way, but Venom declined. Peter and Venom toppled out of the web and had a mid-air fight before Peter hit the ground. He was then tripped up as the Sandman appeared, more than ten times his normal size and growling like a monster. Spider-Man attempted to escape the Sandman, but Venom knocked him onto a steel bar and holds him there with his webbing. The Sandman pummeled him with his gigantic fist while onlookers begin to weep and Spider-Man's costume gets damaged.
Teaming up with the New Goblin[]
Spider-Man and New Goblin form a team
"Looks like just in the nick of time." "A couple of minutes ago wouldn't have been so bad either."
Just before The Sandman could finish Spider-Man off, Harry flew in with his New Goblin gear and threw a pumpkin bomb at The Sandman, and helped Peter up. The two fought Sandman and Venom, and Harry eventually knocked The Sandman down while Peter gets Mary Jane out of the taxi and into a safer area.Venom then attacked Peter, and trapped him with his webbing, but Harry flew in and attempted to stab Venom with some blades protruding out the front of his hoverboard. Venom grabbed his board and flung him off, knocking several bars loose and collapsing to the floor. The clanging sound pained the symbiote, and Peter remembered back to the bell noise in the church, as this was the symbiote's weakness.
Losing Harry Osborn[]
"Whatever comes our way. Whatever battle we have raging inside us, we always have a choice. My friend Harry taught me that."
Venom leapt towards Peter with Harry's board, intending to impale Peter, but Harry jumped in between Venom and Peter, and is himself stabbed instead, much to the horror of Peter. Venom threw him aside and then leapt towards Peter again, who managed to snap his wrists free and smack Venom on the head with a bar. Peter circled Venom with the bars, and the clanging sound pains Venom as each one is slammed into the ground. Peter snagged Eddie from inside the suit with his webbing and pulled him out; he then threw a pumpkin bomb from Harry's glider at the symbiote. Eddie rushed towards the symbiote while the pumpkin bomb flew through the air and onto the symbiote. Peter, horrified by what Eddie was doing, rushed to save him, but both Eddie and the symbiote perished in the resulting explosion from the Pumpkin Bomb.
After Eddie's death, a redeemed Marko approached Peter and told him that he only resorted to crime to pay for his sick daughter, and the killing of Uncle Ben was, in fact, an accident caused by his gun going off unintentionally. He then admitted that what he did to Peter was terrible and had been wishing every day since he never did it. Acknowledging that he also did terrible things and seeing the genuine remorse in Marko's face, a sympathetic Peter forgave him and the Sandman flew off through the buildings into a sandstorm, ending his relationship with Peter on good terms.
Peter and Mary Jane sit beside Harry as he dies
Peter swung down to Harry. He and Mary Jane sat on either side of him, comforting him as he was slowly succumbing to his wounds. Peter expressed remorse for hurting Harry, but Harry forgave Peter and both declared each other as best friends, before Harry died in Peter and Mary Jane's arms. Peter and Mary Jane mourned their friend's death as the sun rises.
Peter, Mary Jane, Gwen, Aunt May, Bernard, and several others attended Harry's funeral. With Peter Parker meditating on these recent events and ending with the conclusion that we all have the decision to do the what's thing. Sometime later Mary Jane was singing at the jazz club. She stopped singing as Peter walked in, and then he steps forward, his hand outstretched. She took it and the two embrace, slowly dancing on the spot to the music of the jazz band as Peter and Mary Jane reconcile and became a couple again. As the years started to pass, Parker and Watson finally managed to work out their complicated relationship, despite the inconveniences of Parker's dual identity.
Over the years, Parker had been thinking about the possibility that he could have made an Anti-Goblin Serum for Norman Osborn. Spider-Man sometimes went to the top of the Chrysler Building, since that was a place that had meaning to him and where he could find comfort to get away from his troubles. Spider-Man also visited the Empire State Building, seeing that the view from there was sweet for him.
On one day, during the year 2024, Parker found himself transported into an alternate universes' New York City (Earth-199999). During his time there, Parker discovered that this universe's Spider-Man's identity had been outed and he was in trouble fighting some of the enemies Parker fought in the past. He also learned about this universe's Spider-Man's friends Ned Leeds and Michelle Jones through the media. Since then, Parker had been trying to find his alternate self, sensing that this universes' Spider-Man needed his help. Unknown to Peter, the Sandman and alternate versions of Green Goblin and Doctor Octopus (the latter two being versions of themselves prior to their deaths) from his universe (Earth-96283) were transported into this universe as well.
Meeting Ned Leeds and Michelle Jones[]
"Wait, so you're Spider-Man too. Why didn't you just say that?" "I generally don't go around advertising it. Kinda defeats the whole 'anonymous superhero' thing."
At night, he was walking around when an Inter-Dimensional Portal appeared before him. Parker stepped through the portal and found himself in the Leeds Residence, where Leeds and Jones were present.
Leeds assumed he was a random person at first until he clarified his identity while greeting them and Leeds' grandmother. Parker then spotted another Spider-Man (another alternate version of Spider-Man from the Earth-120703 universe) and they both eyed each other, both sensing something, like two gunslingers sizing the other up. He realized that was not the Spider-Man native to Leeds' and Jones' universe before they quickly used their respective webs to shoot at the other. Both dodged their webs, and Parker shot his web at the other's Web-Shooter, before realizing the other person was another universe's Peter Parker and not the one he was looking for.
After Leeds' grandmother politely asked the two web-slingers to clean the webs they shot, she went to bed and Parker approached Jones and Leeds. Parker told them that he had been trying to find their Spider-Man and sensed that he needed Parker's help. After Leeds and Jones explained that they did not know their Spider-Man's current location, Parker asked if there was a place that had meaning to him, and when he was about to continue speaking, the Earth-120703 Spider-Man said if there was place where he would get away from everything.
There was a glance of acknowledgement between Parker and the Earth-120703 Spider-Man, with Parker saying that for him it was the top of the Chrysler Building and the Earth-120703 Spider-Man replying that for him it was the Empire State Building, believing that it had a better view, which Parker complimented that the view was sweet. This prompted Jones to realize that her Spider-Man was at Midtown School of Science and Technology.
The two Parkers then learned that the younger Spider-Man's aunt May Parker was killed by Green Goblin and that the Macchina di Kadavus, which was in Jones' possession, could send the Multiversal travelers home, so they all went to the top of Midtown High, where the Earth-199999 Spider-Man was grieving. Parker and the Earth-120703 Spider-Man stood upon the school's tower and stared at the Earth-199999 Spider-Man from above, later swinging down towards him. They showed facial expressions that revealed to the Earth-199999 Spider-Man that they were alternate versions of him, and the two apologized to the Earth-199999 Spider-Man about May. When the Earth-199999 Spider-Man tried to use Macchina to send them back home, saying that they should go home to deal with their enemies and apologized for bringing them to this universe, Jones gently pulled the Macchina back, allowing the two Parkers to talk to him.
Parker told the Earth-199999 Spider-Man that his uncle Ben Parker was killed because of him, and after the Earth-120703 Spider-Man explained his experience losing his girlfriend Gwen Stacy, Parker continued. He said that he hunted down Dennis Carradine because he thought he killed Ben, but when Carradine died, it didn't make Parker feel better, and it took him a long time to get through his painful emotions. the Earth-199999 Spider-Man expressed that he wanted to kill Green Goblin and started quoting May's statement "With great power-", and Parker finished it with "Comes great responsibility." When the Earth-199999 Spider-Man asked how he knew that, the two Parkers surprised answered that their respective versions of Ben Parker told them that. The three Peter Parkers stared at each other, overwhelmed by this uncanny connection. Peter ensured to his Earth-199999 counterpart that May didn't die for nothing.
Working on a Cure[]
"Gotta cure all of 'em, right?" "Right." "That's what we do."
Parker, Michelle Jones' Spider-Man, and the Earth-120703 Peter Parker agreed to work together to cure the villains, so they went to a chemistry lab inside Midtown School of Science and Technology. While the Earth-120703 Parker started remaking the Lizard Antidote for Lizard (from the Earth-120703 Parker's universe) and the Earth-199999 Spider-Man started repairing Electro's (from the Earth-120703 Parker's universe) Cure and Sandman's Cure, Parker admitted he could make an Anti-Goblin Serum for Norman Osborn, since he had been thinking about it for a long time. He noticed the Earth-199999 Spider-Man's conflicted expression, so Parker reminded him that they got to cure all of them because that's what they did.
While Parker was working on Osborn's cure, Ned Leeds approached Parker and asked if he had a best friend, and Parker explained that his best friend tragically died in Parker's arms after trying to kill him, unintentionally making Leeds concerned about himself. Later, Parker noticed the Earth-120703 Parker watching Jones and her Spider-Man embrace each other, and asked the Earth-120703 Parker if he had someone. The Earth-120703 Parker replied that he didn't and asked Parker if he had someone, to which Parker answered that it was complicated. The Earth-120703 Parker suggested that maybe people like them couldn't get girlfriends, but Parker explained that he wouldn't give up, since he and Mary Jane Watson managed to work out their tumultuous relationship, referring to her as MJ, which confused the Earth-120703 Parker. Parker clarified that it was his version of MJ, saying that this situation could get confusing.
When Leeds called out for his Peter Parker, all three of them answered and got confused about who he was referring to. Leeds struggled for a while in calling out his Spider-Man, and the group started making their plan. The Earth-120703 Parker recounted that they had to lure the villains some place, try to cure them while they would attack and send them back to their home universes. The three of them looked at each other, physically expressing that this was crazy, but they were doing it.
Parker was asked by the Earth-120703 Parker if he had his own Spider-Man Suit, so he lowered his t-shirt collar to reveal he was wearing his suit underneath. Leeds handed over web cartridges to them for their own Web-Shooters, which confused Parker and prompted him to shoot webs out of his bare wrists, shocking the others. Parker asked the Earth-199999 Spider-Man that he couldn't do that while the Earth-120703 Spider-Man was fascinated. the Earth-199999 Spider-Man showed a picture of the Statue of Liberty, which was being renovated and was an isolated area to lure the villains to using the Macchina di Kadavus, since that was the item that they all wanted. Leeds revealed to his Spider-Man that he could use magic from the Sling Ring to open an Inter-Dimensional Portal to go there, which Parker supported and proved. When Jones stated that they were going to "kick some ass", Parker corrected that they were going to "cure some ass", and Leeds added "cure that ass".
Conversing with His Alternate Selves[]
"You're amazing. Just to take it in for a minute." "Yeah, yeah, yeah, I can take it in. No, I can take it in." "You... you are amazing."
At the Statue of Liberty, Spider-Man managed to web the cures around the scaffolding, keeping them safe and hidden. He and the Earth-120703 Spider-Man started hanging out around the scaffolding, with the Earth-120703 Spider-Man explaining that Electro used to be nice before he fell into a pool of electric eels and gained his powers. Spider-Man's back was tensing up and started stretching, saying to the Earth-120703 Spider-Man that his back was getting stiff from all the swinging, which the Earth-120703 Spider-Man replied that he had a middle back situation, too.
Spider-Man allowed his alternate self to crack his back for him, complimenting that he back now felt better. the Earth-120703 Spider-Man was taking in the moment and admitted that he always wanted brothers, referring to Spider-Man and the Earth-199999 Spider-Man. Curious, the Earth-120703 Spider-Man questioned how Spider-Man could make organic web fluid, Spider-Man said he would rather not talk about this and asked if he was teasing him. From the crown, the Earth-199999 Spider-Man chimed in, assuring Spider-Man that the Earth-120703 Spider-Man wasn't teasing him and admitted that he, too, was curious about how his web situation worked.
This led to Spider-Man saying that he couldn't explain it, saying that it was like breathing, meaning that his organic webs were just natural for him. After answering to the Earth-199999 Spider-Man that his webs only came out of his wrists, the Earth-120703 Spider-Man stated how it was a hassle having to constantly make his own webs, which Spider-Man agreed. He also admitted that he had a web block once due to an existential crisis, which the Earth-120703 Spider-Man related to in a way.
The Earth-199999 Spider-Man asked them what were some of the craziest villains they had fought, and Spider-Man noted that the Earth-199999 Spider-Man had already met some of them. He answered that he had fought an alien once, and the Earth-199999 Spider-Man revealed that he had fought aliens, too; one on Earth and one in space. The fact that the Earth-199999 Spider-Man had fought an alien in space surprised Spider-Man, and when the Earth-120703 Spider-Man called himself lame for not fighting an alien, Spider-Man assured him that he wasn't. He called the Earth-120703 Spider-Man amazing, and Spider-Man kept repeating it until his alternate self thanked him.
Battle at Liberty Island[]
Defeating the villains[]
"Alright, Spider-Mans! Sandman's first!" "I'm gonna lead him inside the statue." "I'll meet you at the top."
Immediately after their conversation, the three Spider-Men's spider-senses were going off, so they stood their ground. Electro appeared in the sky above Michelle Jones' Spider-Man and started chasing him through the scaffolding of the Statue of Liberty for the Macchina di Kadavus. Spider-Man and the Earth-120703 Spider-Man pulled their masks on and began swinging into action. While Spider-Man was swinging, he heard from the Earth-120703 Spider-Man over comms that he got Electro's attention and suddenly, Lizard grabbed onto Spider-Man's leg, hanging onto him. He reported that Lizard had arrived and kicked him loose, sending Lizard landing onto the arm of a nearby crane.
Spider-Man dropped down above him, quickly backpedaling as Lizard advanced. He was frantically crawling away from an approaching Lizard and asked the Earth-199999 Spider-Man for the Lizard Antidote. A fight between Spider-Man and Lizard occurred, and in the middle of it, the Earth-120703 Spider-Man accidentally shot webs at Spider-Man's face, but Spider-Man ripped the webbing off, calling it gross. When Electro accidentally struck the crane, sending it crashing down, Spider-Man and Lizard were still fighting onboard until Spider-Man webbed off.
As Sandman created a massive sandstorm that covered the statue, the unmasked Spider-Men met up on the scaffolding above the storm. A panicked the Earth-120703 Spider-Man bickered with Spider-Man that he kept yelling at Spider-Man, calling him Peter-Two but Spider-Man thought the Earth-120703 Spider-Man was Peter-Two. After the Earth-199999 Spider-Man yelled at them to stop arguing, the Earth-120703 Spider-Man and Spider-Man admitted that they didn't know how to work as a team. Fortunately, the Earth-199999 Spider-Man explained that he had experience working as team since he was part of the Avengers. Spider-Man complimented that it was great and questioned what the Avengers were, making the Earth-199999 Spider-Man realize that neither Spider-Man nor the Earth-120703 Spider-Man had their own versions of the Avengers.
When the Earth-199999 Spider-Man tried to explain what the Avengers were, a bolt of electricity struck amid the sandstorm, causing Spider-Man to yell at how this was helping their current situation. the Earth-199999 Spider-Man disregarded the explanation and advised the two Spider-Men to focus, trust their spider-sense and coordinate their attacks, agreeing to pick one villain to cure at a time. They also established clear codenames for themselves, with the Earth-199999 Spider-Man as Peter-One, Spider-Man as Peter-Two and the Earth-120703 Spider-Man as Peter-Three.
At the moment Spider-Man and Peter-One were about to swing off, Peter-Three halted them and told them that he loved them. Spider-Man and Peter-One felt awkward at first, but they took that in and thanked him. The three of them shared a determined look. They pulled on their masks and leaped off the scaffolding, swinging around the statue, cheerful at the prospect of themselves being together as a team. One by one, they landed on the statue's crown, with Spider-Man first, Peter-Three second and Peter-One third. Sandman, Electro and Lizard rose directly across from them, and both teams leaped towards each other.
Spider-Man was being chased by a gigantic Sandman through another part of the scaffolding and Peter-One commanded that Sandman was first to be cured. Hearing this through comms, Spider-Man decided to lead Sandman inside the statue, where he would meet Peter-Three at the top so that Spider-Man could be handed Sandman's Cure. Spider-Man scrambled to evade Sandman, who was closing in, and Spider-Man crawled inside the statue, climbing and webbing his way to the top. He tried to tell his old enemy that they were trying to help him, but Sandman didn't give up the chase. Spider-Man sighed and webbed to the top of the statue.
He was inside the crown and there was nowhere else to go as sand quickly flooded in all around him. Spider-Man called out to his alternate selves that he needed the cure before arms of sand grabbed at Spider-Man, pulling him under. Spider-Man was completely engulfed in sand, saved for his grasping hand, which received the cure and clicked the device on. After a blast of golden light, the sand quickly retreated. Spider-Man pulled off his mask, gasping for air as he watched as the sand continuing to fall away, to reveal Flint Marko, a man once again. He assured Marko that it was okay and that they were going to get him home, instructing him to stay inside.
Reuniting with Otto Octavius[]
"Oh, it's good to see you, dear boy." "It's good to see you." "You're all grown up. How are you?" "Trying to do better."
Spider-Man then joined his other selves at the top of the crown as they fought Electro. Peter-One explained that they needed to get the Arc Reactor off Electro, who fired a huge bolt of Arc electricity at them. The Spider-Men jumped aside, landing on the nearby scaffolding. Peter-One commanded Spider-Man to go right, then all three Spider-Men simultaneously fired webs, attempting to secure Electro. Spider-Man jumped in, but Electro effortlessly jolted him, sending him tumbling off the scaffolding. Later, Spider-Man took Electro's Cure from the scaffolding below and readied for attack. Suddenly, Doctor Octopus' Tentacles grabbed both Spider-Man and Peter-Three, causing the former to drop the cure. Otto Octavius, seemingly as Doctor Octopus, rose up into view behind Electro. After Spider-Man pleaded Octavius to not hurt them, Octavius, who was tricking the three of them into thinking he was Doctor Octopus, suddenly used a tentacle to grab the Arc Reactor on Electro. Octavius settled the two Spider-Men on a platform and retrieved the cure device to successfully cure Electro, restoring him to Max Dillon.
After most of the villains were cured, Spider-Man watched Octavius look at the Arc Reactor in his hand, saying "The power of the sun...", and Spider-Man dropped down to finish the statement with "In the palm of your hand." Spider-Man pulled off his mask and warmly reunited with Octavius. They both admitted that it felt great to see each other again, with Octavius telling Spider-Man that he had grown up since they last met. When Octavius asked how he was, Spider-Man responded that he was trying to do better, echoing a conversation they had so many years before.
An Interdimensional Portal appeared near the two, and Doctor Strange exited through it. Peter-One argued with Strange as Spider-Man and Peter-Three went next to Peter-One, surprising Strange. Having overheard their argument, a confused Spider-Man asked about Strange going to the Grand Canyon. Peter-One introduced Spider-Man and Peter-Three to Strange as well as introduced Strange to both Spider-Men as the wizard he told them about.
When Strange was about to use the Macchina di Kadavus, Spider-Man's eyes widened as he heard Green Goblin's voice from afar, asking if Peter-One could come out to play. Green Goblin rode in on his Goblin Glider and shot Razor Bats at them, but Octavius jumped in and used his tentacles to destroy the razors while all Spider-Men dodged them. Green Goblin snatched the Macchina, but Strange took it back. All Spider-Men sensed something was off about the Macchina, and it turned out there was a Pumpkin Bomb inside it, causing a massive explosion.
The corrupted spell being unleashed caused the scaffolding to collapse on itself, while Peter-One's friends were saved, Spider-Man webbed the recently cured Curt Connors, while Octavius carried Dillon with his tentacles, as they went somewhere safe. As the sun rose, Spider-Man and Peter-Three arrived at the base of the statue to see Peter-One brutally beating down Green Goblin. Both Spider-Men gave a quick look at each other, knowing they had to do something.
When Peter-One attempted to impale Green Goblin with his glider, Spider-Man jumped between them and held against the glider, saving Goblin. Peter-One didn't relent, but a pleading look on Spider-Man's face expressing "Don't do this" gave a wordless understanding between the two. The glider was settled down, but Goblin stabbed Spider-Man in the back, causing him to collapse to the ground. After watching Peter-Three toss the Anti-Goblin Serum to Peter-One, who used it to cure Osborn from the Goblin, Spider-Man smiled in relief.
Returning to His Universe[]
"I think you're about to go home. But I... uh... Thank you."
Michelle Jones' Spider-Man and Max Dillon's Spider-Man rushed to Spider-Man's aid, and Spider-Man realized it was Peter-Three who tossed the Anti-Goblin Serum. He assured Peter-Three that he was good since he had been stabbed before. The three Spider-Men shared a moment and then noticed chaotic rumblings from above. Spider-Man asked if that was happening or he was dying, and Peter-Three confirmed that was real. Spider-Man also noticed that there were people in the sky. Peter-One webbed off to see Doctor Strange as Peter-Three took care of Spider-Man.
Spider-Man was held up on his feet by Peter-Three when Peter-One, after convincing Strange to cast the Runes of Kof-Kol to make everyone in this universe forget who Peter-One was, arrived. Peter-One told them that they were about to return home and emotionally thanked them. When he was struggling to find the words to say goodbye with, Spider-Man smiled and told Peter-One that he knew and that was what they did. All three Spider-Men embraced each other, with Peter-One thanking them before saying that he guessed he would see them, and Spider-Man agreed. They shared a final smile between each other, since they were now more than just counterparts.
As Peter-One ran off, Spider-Man winced. Peter-Three asked if he was in so much pain, which Spider-Man confirmed. Arms around each other, both Spider-Men watched as the magic took hold. The new spell resulted in the rest of the Multiversal travelers to be sent back to their home universes. Spider-Man and Peter-Three waved goodbye to each other as they disappear in golden lights, returning home. Assuming Peter was pulled from the present time in his universe, he'd have been sent back to his original timeline of the Earth-96283 universe.
Personality[]
"You can't live in fear of what might happen. You care so much for others... you have to let someone care for you."
Peter Parker, as Spider-Man, is shown to be a brave and righteous hero with an indomitable sense of justice and responsibility. Since the death of his wise and beloved Uncle Ben, Peter's vow of responsibility had led him to a path of heroism and humanitarian. To those in the authorities, Spider-Man was shown to be an outlaw and vigilante, someone just as dangerous as those he brought in. This was because the authorities mistrust Spider-Man at first, due to his vigilantism but he continued to fight crime in New York, in spite what everyone said about him.
Over the years, Spider-Man gradually became respected by the authorities, those are the NYPD and NYFD, as well as the citizens of New York City, despite J. Jonah Jameson considering him as a masked menace on the Daily Bugle newspaper. Spider-Man is individualistic as he works by himself, this was caused when he was a social outcast in his youth. This had gradually lessened when he became best friends with Harry Osborn and then the boyfriend of Mary Jane.
Peter was originally shy and awkward towards his life-long crush Mary Jane Watson, as he had a hard time talking to her and making conversations with her. Since he didn't want her to get hurt by his enemies, he wanted to be friends with her, but after Mary Jane discovers his superhero identity, she decides to be with him no matter what risks can be caused. He also has a sense of humor, sometimes cracking jokes in front of Bone Saw McGraw, Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus and Sandman.
When the Venom Symbiote bonded to him, it unleashed his dark and vengeful side when he fought Sandman in the subway in a relentless way. The suit possessed him which made him beat up Harry at his penthouse after he blackmailed Mary Jane to "break up" with him and taunted him how his dad saw him as a failure, including throwing a pumpkin bomb at him, disfiguring the right side of Harry's face. Under the influence of the symbiote, he temporarily became arrogant and aggressive when he revealed Eddie Brock's fake photos to the Daily Bugle, getting him fired and unintentionally striking Mary Jane at the Jazz Club. He realized that the symbiote was controlling him, making his friends suffer the same way it did it for Peter. He did the right thing of rejecting and getting rid of the symbiote in a church, returning back to his true personality.
After defeating Venom and Sandman, forgiving the latter, along with the unfortunate death of his best friend Harry Osborn, Peter realizes that whatever battle-raging inside himself and everyone he loves, he and his loved ones always had a choice. This was when Harry taught him and he will always choose to do what was right. Peter has a caring side when after much revelations with the black suit and having turbulent relationship, he eventually decided that it was time to mend his relationship with Mary Jane, which she returned as the two rekindled their romance and were back as a couple, though it took a while but they managed to make their relationship stable, despite the inconveniences of his dual life.
Throughout his career as a crime-fighter, Peter became more mature and level-headed as he grew up, retaining his humbled nature, even after freeing himself from the black suit. He came to the realization that vengeance won't make him feel better and developed a strong sense of justice, especially a strict code against killing. Because of this, he is the most experienced of his alternative variants after years of crime-fighting. This was displayed when after he was transported to another reality and meeting his two alternative counterparts, he helped the young Parker understand that vengeance was not what Aunt May would have wanted after her death at the hands of the Green Goblin, even stopping him from giving into his anger from impaling Osborn with his own glider, despite everything he done to both of them.
When he met his two alternative counterparts, he bonded with them easily and became a big brother like figure to them, even giving them advice when they needed, especially when he helped his Earth-120703 counterpart accept the loss of Gwen Stacy and not to doubt himself. He was still quiet, but was willing to joke like his variants. He also learned from his Earth-199999 counterpart that there were other superheroes in his world, that he never knew, as no other superheroes were in his universe, which made him curious. Because he had spent years balancing his complicated life as both Spider-Man and as a civilian, having less resources and having no help from other heroes during his crime-fighting career, Peter was able to live an independent life as a superhero, by fighting crime alone. In addition, he, and his Earth-120703 counterpart, inspired his Earth-199999 counterpart to become more independent like him, always relying on Ben Parker's motto, rather than relying on other heroes.
Powers and Abilities[]
Powers[]
"You're an amazing creature, Spider-Man. You and I are not so different."
Spider-Physiology: Spider-Man possesses his superhuman spider-powers and abilities after being bitten by a genetically engineered super spider, having gained the attributes of a spider such as superhuman strength, speed, agility, reflexes, stamina, durability, equilibrium, clinging ability to scale through surfaces and ceilings, and his heightened precognitive sixth sense to detect incoming threats known as "spider-sense". His body is muscular but extremely well proportioned[8] with serious muscle definition.[9]
Superhuman Strength:
Spider-Man stopping a train.
Spider-Man possesses superhuman strength, which is the proportionate strength of a spider, allowing him to lift approximately 20 tons.[10] With a single punch, he was able to send Flash Thompson flying across a hallway, as well as puncture the roof of Dennis Carradine's car. When he saved MJ in the rain, he was able to pull away several grown men at once with his webbing. He later held up a Roosevelt Island tram (filled with people) with one hand. His most impressive feat of strength was stopping a runaway train, even though it strained him painfully. He was able to hold up a piece of Doctor Octopus' Hideout wall and preventing it from crushing Mary Jane, even lifting it up and away. His strength was enhanced by the Venom symbiote, with a photograph depicting him holding up a motorcycle in each hand. During his final battle with Venom, he was able to repeatedly drive metal poles through concrete to surround the symbiote. His strength was sufficient enough to hold back his young counterpart from killing the Green Goblin with his glider, even when bending down on his knees.
Superhuman Speed:
Peter running very fast.
Spider-Man can move at incredible superhuman speeds, having been able to catch up to his school bus on foot. In combat, he can move with blinding speed, as seen during his duel with Flash Thompson.[11] He can travel great distances in even shorter amounts of time by swinging on his webs; he was once tasked by Aziz with traveling 42 blocks in less than eight minutes.
Superhuman Agility: Spider-Man is exceptionally agile and acrobatic in his movements, surpassing that of an Olympic gymnast; he can leap 40 feet into the air without feeling bound by gravity.[9] He moves with a lithe, skittering grace that seems barely human.[8] He was able to perform a double backflip over Flash's crony, who was attempting to tackle him. he can practically surf rooftops.[12] He was also able to backflip over the Goblin's glider to avoid being impaled. He could save MJ when Otto Octavius threw a car at them.
Superhuman Reflexes: Spider-Man has great reflexes, as stated by MJ Watson. The speed of his reflexes allow him to dodge any attack, even when he is far away.
Superhuman Stamina: Spider-Man can exert himself for extended periods of time without tiring. While sprinting used to leave him breathless, his breathing and heartbeat are now slow, steady, and sure, as if he does not even strain himself.[9] His heartbeat had remained steady no matter what sort of physical exertions to which he had been subjecting himself.[12] Even after stopping a train and pushing his muscular endurance, he fainted from exhaustion only for a few minutes. He fought both Venom and Sandman before Harry arrived to help.
Spider-Man's bones and muscles are incredible dense to support his strength. As such, he can survive falling from incredible heights, as seen when he was experiencing a web block and he stopped producing webs while swinging, or when he jumped off a building and landed on a car. He even survived a Pumpkin Bomb detonating in his face, whereas Harry was disfigured by one. He also withstood Harry stabbing him with a knife. He even survived from being stabbed by the Green Goblin, noting he had been stabbed multiple times before. His fingers are as hard as steel.[9]
Spider-Man wall-crawling on the Statue of Liberty, while in Earth-199999
Wallcrawling: Spider-Man can crawl up walls because of the barbed hairs on his body. He can also stick to walls and ceilings no matter how rough or slippery.
Superhuman Senses: Spider-Man could see perfectly with his glasses off following the spider bite. His vision is even better than 20/20, enabling him to see 20 yards away.[9] He can move with grace to easily balance a tray full of food.[11] He said his eyesight would make a hawk jealous.[11] He can see incredibly far, fast, and clear, being able to see the end of a train track from a long distance.
Spider-Man has an early awareness of danger, which is a sixth sense or a "spider-sense". He first felt the sensation when Mary Jane was about to slip and fall in the cafeteria, but he caught her and her tray of food without spilling anything. He was able to avoid Flash's punch and subsequent attacks from others. During the attack at the World Festival, he was able to sense incoming danger, which was revealed to be the Green Goblin, flying down on his glider, minutes before he arrived. Throughout his final battle with the Green Goblin, he sensed the Goblin Glider behind him when he realized his enemy was preparing to impale him from behind, making him dodge out of the way, just in time before it could strike him, even though it impaled the Goblin instead. After he lost his powers, his spider-sense immediately returned as it warned him when a car was thrown through the window of the cafe by Doctor Octopus, that he and Mary Jane were in, allowing him to dodge the car and protect Mary Jane from the impact. He also sensed the end of the train tracks when the train's brakes were destroyed, making him realize he had to stop the train before it could plunge off the track. Spider-Man was able to sense Gwen Stacy falling from a building when a crane malfunctioned and caused her to fall. When he bonded to the alien symbiote, he sensed a Pumpkin Bomb being thrown at him by Harry and he dodged it. His spider-sense was strong enough to alert him about his Earth-199999 counterpart in danger when he learned that he was incriminated by Mysterio for the crimes he didn't commit and knowing he needed his help. However, he was unable to sense Venom, due to him bypassing his senses, making him to get attacked by him without warning.
Organic Web Generation: Spider-Man developed spinnerets in his forearms to secrete webbing with great tensile strength.[11] He can shoot webs for considerable distances in order to swing on them for rapid transportation, as well as apply them in combat. However, an existential crisis can take a toll on his ability to shoot webs and all his other powers.
Regenerative Healing Factor: Spider-Man has an enhanced healing ability, allowing him to heal higher than normal humans, he stopped using his glasses because his eyes were healed to perfection, and his eyesight was now superhuman. He healed from the spider bite in one day, During his second battle with the Green Goblin, he had a bloody cut on his wrist, which eventually healed in a few hours. During his final battle with Green Goblin, he was fatigued and injured then regain his strength, stamina, and senses, and made a full recovery from all of his injuries in one hour. He recovered after he woke up after being unconscious after his second battle with Doc Ock, and healed from minor injuries. After his final battle with Doctor Octopus, he healed the stab wound by Harry to the abdoman with a little blood to come out without scaring. His regenerative power enhanced his metabolism, immune system and health.
Physical Augmentation: Spider-Man's physical spider-prowess was augmented even further by the Venom symbiote. However, he relayed to Eddie Brock that while the power felt good, he lost sight of who he was.

He has managed to take fights with the dangerous Doctor Octopus, despite being briefly overpowered by his tentacles. Spider-Man also was able to pick up a fight with Sandman and later, Venom, though he was overpowered by the latter, due to Venom having the same powers he does. His fighting skills had improved as he grew up and he proved to be a superior fighter compared to his Earth-120703 and Earth-199999 counterparts.
"With my aim, I couldn't catch an elephant, much less a cold. It was like trying to precisely aim water while using a broken hose. But after a while, I got the hang of it. It just went where I aimed it. I can't tell you how thrilled I was. I started shooting right and left, like a gunslinger taking out bushwhackers. And it wasn't enough to just "shoot" stuff with the webs. I snagged stuff with pinpoint precision and pulled on it, sending it flying across the room. I was totally into it, not thinking about what I was doing. I don't know, maybe I kind of blanked out or something."
Master Marksman: Spider-Man can accurately fire his webbing to ensnare objects or attack his enemies. He is very precise, as he shot both Green Goblin and J. Jonah Jameson in the face. Other Equipment[]
Spider-Man's Suit
Spider-Man Suit: In order to hide his identity, Peter wore a spandex suit with a mask consisting white, triangular eye-lenses to conceal his identity as Spider-Man. The suit featured red and black coloring in order to match the colors of the spider that bit him. It also featured silver webbing across the suit. He also has spare suits in case any of them get damaged or ripped.
Human Spider Suit: When signing up for a wrestling match, Peter wore this suit with a red ski-mask and a red jumper with webbing and a spider logo in the middle. Peter then wore this suit to chase his uncle's killer. Later, Peter took elements from this suit and incorporated it into his Spider-Man suit.
Original Suit: This suit was used when Peter Parker first became Spider-Man. It featured silver webbing, a lighter red and blue color scheme with a shorter logo. The suit was damaged during a battle with the Green Goblin.
Updated Suit: This was created after the fight with the Green Goblin. The suit features a larger logo and a darker red and blue color scheme. Peter used this suit to fight Doctor Octopus, Eddie Brock/Venom and the Sandman. He continued to use this suit for his further experiences as Spider-Man.
Former Equipment[]
Symbiote Suit: Once bonded to the Venom symbiote, Peter wore an all-black suit which maintained the silver webbing, and also had a curved spider symbol. He rejected it when he discovered its true nature.
Facilities[]
Parker Residence: When his parents died at the age of four, Peter moved into his aunt and uncle's house in Forest Hills, Queens, New York. He lived in the Parker Residence since he was young and loved his Aunt May and Uncle Ben, looking up to them as if they were his parents. At aged 17, Peter returned to the residence after his school field trip to Columbia University's labs where he was bitten by a genetically engineered super spider. Peter also made his apartment his secret headquarters when he was operating as Spider-Man, having installed a police scanner to inform him about any crimes that have been occuring around New York City.
There are differences between this incarnation of Spider-Man and his comic book counterpart. In his origin, Peter wrestled to win money to impress Mary Jane with a car in the first film. In the original source material, he volunteered to wrestle a man named Crusher Hogan to test his powers, another alteration was Flint Marko was responsible for his uncle's death in the third film while in the comic book, it was a burglar backstage of a TV show that Spider-Man was winning money from as well as becoming Spider-Man after graduating. The other main differences that have been shown are falling in love with Mary Jane Watson since childhood in the first film while in comics, he didn't love her until around his college years and after the death of Gwen Stacy.
In the comics, Spider-Man used mechanical web-shooters with artificial webbing he designed himself, this version of Spider-Man has the ability to shoot webbing out of his wrist.
Originally, Peter was going to make his own web-shooters, however, the concept was scrapped.
The Web-Shooters were changed due to Sam Raimi's decision of making it more realistic since a high school student could not have created something of that.
This iteration of Spider-Man takes inspirations of many ideas of the Ultimate Comics instead such as Peter meeting Harry and Mary Jane in high school and the Spider being genetical alternated instead of radioactive.
Funny enough but Tobey Maguire and Sam Raimi appears on an arc of the Ultimate Spider-Man Comic Book where Maguire protocolized an In-Universe movie based on Spider-Man with the main villain being Doctor Octopus.
Unlike the comic book version of Spider-Man's suit, Sam Raimi's Spider-Man suit has a silver raised webbing pattern and more triangular eye lenses.
It was revealed that Tobey was going to come back as Spider-Man again if Spider-Man 4 wasn't canceled in 2010, but it didn't work out with Sam Raimi.
Tobey Maguire's participation was in doubt at one point because he was suffering severe back pains. Jake Gyllenhaal, was lined up to play Spider-Man and had already begun preparation, but Maguire decided to take part after all. However, according to the DVD commentary, the "My back!" joke after Peter falls from the roof was purely coincidental, as it was written into the script before Maguire's problem arose. Gyllenhaal would go on to play Spider-Man's enemy Mysterio fifteen years later in Spider-Man: Far from Home (2019).
Spider-Man 2 filmed the train scene in Chicago to incorporate it in New York because of the Directors decision.
The studio had expressed interest in actors Leonardo DiCaprio, Edward Furlong, Jude Law, Freddie Prinze Jr., Chris Klein, Wes Bentley, and Heath Ledger for Spider-Man. Furlong had been considered by James Cameron for the role in 1996, while Sam Raimi joked of Prince that "[he] won't even be allowed to buy a ticket to see this film." Also, actors Scott Speedman, Jay Rodan, and James Franco were involved in screen tests for the lead role with Franco later being cast as Harry Osborn.
Tobey Maguire said he had never read a Spider-Man comic book, but took the role because he liked the script.
One of the chief difficulties that Tobey Maguire experienced in the now-famous upside-down kissing scene was that his sinuses kept filling up with water as it was performed in driving rain. By signing on for two sequels, Tobey Maguire secured himself a paycheck of $26 million.
To acquire his bumped-up physique, Tobey Maguire went through a strict five-month regimen of exercise, weight training, and martial arts six times a week, as well as eating a high protein meal four to six times a day.
When Sam Raimi first offered to cast Tobey Maguire as Spider-Man, the studio was initially very reluctant. That was until they saw Maguire's test and they saw that the actor had bulked up for the role.
Spider-Man's webbing in the film is made out of foam materials and fishing line. It was also enhanced with CGI.
Tobey Maguire had to have his Spider-Man outfit slightly remodeled as the original design had not made any allowances for when the actor needed a bathroom break. A vent was added to enable him to perform without having to take the entire costume off.
During the fight between the Green Goblin and Spider-Man near the end, Willem Dafoe accidentally clipped Tobey Maguire on the chin with one blow.
When used in the trailer, the shot of Peter doing a long back-flip onto a car hood was digitally altered to put him in his Spider-Man outfit instead of his wrestling outfit.
When two studio executives were shown shots of the computer-generated Spider-Man, they believed it was Tobey Maguire performing the stunts.
Both Tobey Maguire and Willem Dafoe incorporated a Yoga technique called Ashtanga into their training regimens for this film. "Ashtanga" translates into English as "eight-legged," like a spider.
Zach Hudson, the stunt double for Tobey Maguire, fractured his leg after a stunt went wrong and he slammed into a brick wall.
Tobey Maguire was approached for the film largely as a result of his performance in The Cider House Rules (1999). Sam Raimi felt that Maguire's performance in the film embodied much of the character and personality traits he was looking for in Peter/Spider-Man.
Josh Hartnett turned down the role of Peter Parker/Spider-Man. Frankie Muniz and Topher Grace were considered for the role of Peter Parker/Spider-Man. Grace would later play Venom in the third film. Leonardo DiCaprio was considered for the role of Peter Parker/Spider-Man, he later appeared with Tobey Maguire in The Great Gatsby (2013).
One of the scenes that Tobey Maguire performed for his screen test was the final one in which Peter Parker rejects Mary Jane.
The train fight between Doc Ock and Spider-Man was the idea of director Sam Raimi and the first major sequence to be filmed.
Tobey Maguire's participation was in doubt at one point because he was suffering severe back pains. Jake Gyllenhaal was lined up to play Spider-Man and had already begun preparation, but Maguire decided to take part after all.
When Peter dumps his Spider-Man suit in a garbage can, it's an exacting homage to a panel from "Spider-Man No More", Issue #50 of The Amazing Spider-Man. As in the film, the outfit is found and brought to J. Jonah Jameson, then reclaimed by Spider-Man who leaves a note like the one in the movie.
Peter rents above a TV repair shop. He doesn't live with Harry anymore since Norman's death, and Harry moved back into his father's townhouse. Harry's obsession with Spider-Man was too much for Peter to bear. This is the reason why he gets annoyed with Harry at his birthday party.
There are several visual references to Spider-Man (2002) in the sequel:
Peter running into a burning building to save a child.
Peter running across a rooftop before trying (and failing) to shoot his web.
Peter putting out the trash in Aunt May's back yard and speaking to Mary Jane.
Spider-Man lying incapacitated on the sofa of his enemy.
POV of Peter Parker looking through his glasses and seeing a blurred image.
It has been recently announced that some actors from previous Spider-Man films portrayed their respective characters again in the third Spider-Man film set within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with Tobey Maguire reprising his role as Spider-Man.
Interestingly, The Incredible Hulk director Louis Leterrier originally intended to have Tobey Maguire cameo as Peter Parker in the movie.
Behind the Scenes[]
Spider-Man in the Spider-Man Trilogy is the first live-action incarnation of the character which does not use web shooters, instead using organic webbing.
Earlier concepts show Parker wearing web shooters, but this was cut.
Maguire was excited to portray a much darker version of Peter Parker/Spider-Man in Spider-Man 3.[15]
Spider-Man makes appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home where he is transported into the universe as a result of the spell by Doctor Strange. However, he is sent back towards the end of the movie. Additionally, Spider-Man appears alongside his two successors in the film.
According to the novelization, Peter was born in August. However, it is unknown what exact birthdate he was born in the films.
